If you're more interested in culture and experiencing Mexico with locals you have many options.  Merida is located in the heart of the yucatan and a wonderful place to spend 3-4 days.  Many tourists use it as a starting point to visit other Mayan sites in the area such as Uxmal or the Puuc Route.  There are many other colonial towns that have managed to retain their cultural endearments.  Some of our favorites are Oaxaca, Queretaro, Guadalajara

.

Mexico has amazing beaches if you're the type who likes to relax with a good book and some sand on your vacation.  Places like Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta and Cancun

all have large tourist infrastructure and are easily accessible from anywhere in the world.

Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta has become one of Mexico’s most important cruise ship ports, taking up to 500,000 passengers per year.  It is much different than Cancun since it has a lot of history.  Cancun was invited for tourism, but Puerto Vallarta is a colonial town with a story.  It is set on the beach with a beautiful background of mountains and forest.  There are many excursions into the sea, jungle, or city itself.  You can choose from historical tours, scuba diving, visiting the jungle, or just relaxing on the beautiful beach!  Contact us for more information regarding this wonderful destination.

Things to see and do in Puerto Vallarta:

Scuba Diving – There are many dive shops here or organize a tour through your hotel.

Snorkeling – The more popular areas are the Marietas Island Caverns, what a beautiful way to spend your day!

Sierra Madre Mountains – Guides offer tours into the sub-tropical forest to view authentic villages, amazing wildlife and plants.

Canapy tour or Zip Line – Zoom over the treetops from platform to platform, what a great adventure!
