If you're more interested in culture and experiencing Mexico with locals you have many options.  Merida is located in the heart of the yucatan and a wonderful place to spend 3-4 days.  Many tourists use it as a starting point to visit other Mayan sites in the area such as Uxmal or the Puuc Route.  There are many other colonial towns that have managed to retain their cultural endearments.  Some of our favorites are Oaxaca, Queretaro, Guadalajara

.

Mexico has amazing beaches if you're the type who likes to relax with a good book and some sand on your vacation.  Places like Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta and Cancun

all have large tourist infrastructure and are easily accessible from anywhere in the world.

Mexico City
Mexico City

Mexico City is the capital of Mexico and one of the largest cities in the world.  It is an elegant, grand city with lots of public parks and art.  It is against the law to cut any tree and this explains the extraordinary greenery for "the biggest city in the world.”  This also means it contains all the wonderful art, theater and restaurants other cities have of the same size.  Interestingly, it is the oldest city in the western hemisphere that has been continuously inhabited because it was settled by the Aztecs in the 1300s around 200 years before the Spanish arrived.  There are also ruins outside of town that date back another 2000 years.  Mexico can be a little overwhelming for the first time visitor and we know all the best places to stay and eat so let us know when you’re planning your trip to the capital of Mexico!
