ITINERARY

If your plans after visiting Merida include Cancun, this tour gives you the option of visiting Chichen Itza from Mérida and continue your vacation in Cancun.

In the morning enjoy the presence of Kukulkan god in Chichen Itza, visit the Sacred Cenote and other Mayan constructions. Our trip will begin in your hotel in Mérida, we'll pick you up early and drive 1.5 hrs to Chichen.  The name of Chichen Itza comes from the Mayan words: Chi (Mouth), Chen (hole or well) and Itza (Itza people). All together, these words mean "At the mouth of the Well of the Itza people". The visit will be leaded by an expert and knowledgeable guide, who will explain the beautiful architecture of the buildings and the way of living of the Mayan people.

Explore the main buildings of this ceremonial city such as The Thousand Columns, The Observatory, The Ball Game, and walk over a "Sac beh" or white path to get to the Sacred Cenote. After a long walk, you will enjoy the Yucatecan food in a Hacienda Xay Beh and have local dancers perform for you.

Sometimes, if all of the passenger agree, there´s the possibililty of going to the cenote Ik kil to have a dip, but it´s not garanteed.

The tour comes to an end when you arrive to your hotel in Cancun.
