ITINERARY
Visit one of the most famous wonders in México, Chichen Itza. This spectacular site is an icon of this country and named one of the new 7 wonders of the world.
The perfectly built Kukulcan pyramid or "El Castillo" is a Mayan calendar itself and you will be surprised by the amount of knowledge hidden in every stone. Other magnificent structures are the largest ball court of the Mayan world and the observatory.
Chichen Itza is located 1.5 hours from Mérida and 2.5 hours from Cancun, so this is an excursion you can't afford to miss. The site is one of the best preserved in Mexico and new buildings are open to the public on a regular basis. The excursion starts at your hotel at 9:00 am when we pick you up and drive to the site. Your guide will explain in depth about the beautiful architecture and the knowledge of the cosmos that the Mayan people had. Wander around the Thousand Columns, which is considered to be a former market and reflects life during the Mayan splendor. We will learn about the "sacbeh" or white path that takes you to the Sacred Cenote.
Sometimes, when all of the passengers agree, there´s the possibility of going to the cenote Ik kil to have a dip, but it is not garanteed.
After a long walk, enjoy typical food in Hacienda Xay Be while watching a traditional dance show.
