Home stays are one of the best ways to immerse in the culture of a country.  At Adventures Mexico, we offer home stays for groups or individuals traveling to Merida, Mexico.  Our families are very welcoming and provide you with a room, access to a bathroom and three meals a day.  Depending on if you are traveling with a group or solo, you may have a roommate.  All of our families are native Spanish speakers so you are guaranteed to learn a lot of Spanish while you are here. 

Instead of sitting in a hostel studing spanish from a book, consider living with a Mexican family which speaks Spanish at all times.  Learn about true Mexican cutlure, food, language and customs.  Students who participate in home stays report more advancement in the language than those who choose not to.

In addition to being much more fun and cultural than a hotel or hostel, home stays are very economical.  You will be able to travel farther and do more with your money while staying with a family.  They also are very helpful to provide information about the local culture, what to see and do and what to avoid.  Home stays are a wonderful option for anyone who truly wants to experience an authentic, cultural vacation.  We look forward to helping you plan your next home stay trip to Merida!

 In the homestay you will be provided with three delicious meals per day,  a clean private room, that your can or can´t share weather you are traveling alone or companied, safe water to drink, clean bed sheets and towels and warm water for bathing.

This homestay  is a great opportunity to see an experiment the Merida culture and practice Spanish firsthand.

All host families are experienced to make your stay more and more comfortable and attractive.

We will pick you up from the airport to take you with your homestay selected family.

The information about your host family, including name, address and telephone number will be provided to you prior to your departure. 

We will always choose the most compatible family with you from our list so your homestay is always comfortable and entertaining, taking under consideration not only your physical preferences but your interests. 

Transportation between host families' homes and the Institute of Modern Spanish is handled in various manners depending on the host family and the location of their home as well as the preference of the student.

• Pick-up & drop-off in the Institute of Modern Spanish van

• or, student takes a short public bus ride.

In the case that the student will walk or take a public bus to and from the Institute of Modern Spanish, the host family will accompany the student on his/her first day.

About the dirty laundry; there are a lot of laundry business in the host family neighbor and they clean and dry per kilogram at a fare rate, and if you take your clothes in the morning, they will have it ready at the afternoon.

Students registering and travelling with their own roomate(s) receive a discount for sharing a room.
