Day 1 Arrival in Mexico City – Capital of Contrasts

Welcome to Mexico City! Upon arrival, your private transfer will take you to your centrally located hotel in the heart of the historic center. Take the afternoon to rest or enjoy a short walk around the Zócalo. In the evening, your group will gather for a welcome dinner at Azul Histórico, a stunning colonial courtyard restaurant led by acclaimed Chef Ricardo Muñoz Zurita. Here, you'll be introduced to ancestral flavors elevated to contemporary elegance—your first taste of the culinary journey ahead.

Day 2 Flavors of CDMX – Market Tasting & Salsa Workshop

Begin with a guided visit to Mercado de San Juan, one of the city's most iconic food markets. Sample exotic fruits, cheeses, and local delicacies. Afterward, join a hands-on salsa and tortilla workshop, where you'll learn to make several types of salsas using volcanic molcajetes. Lunch will feature dishes made with your own creations. End the afternoon with a walking tour of the historic center, visiting the Metropolitan Cathedral and Templo Mayor.

Day 3 Frida, Xochimilco & Tacos al Pastor

Explore the bohemian district of Coyoacán, including a guided visit to Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul. Continue to Xochimilco, where you'll board a colorful trajinera for a traditional lunch cruise with mariachi music and floating food vendors. In the evening, join your guide for a taco tasting walk, sampling Mexico City’s best tacos al pastor, suadero, and gringas.

Day 4 Transfer to Puebla – Colonial Elegance & Street Food

After breakfast, transfer to Puebla (approx. 2.5 hrs). Upon arrival, explore the stunning colonial architecture, including the Puebla Cathedral and the Rosary Chapel. Enjoy a guided street food walk, tasting cemitas, pelonas, molotes, and camotes. Visit a Talavera pottery workshop to witness the artistry behind Puebla’s iconic ceramics.

Day 5 Cooking in Puebla & Visit to Cholula

This morning, join a hands-on cooking class with a local chef in Puebla, where you’ll explore key ingredients from the market and learn to prepare regional specialties such as chiles en nogada, tinga poblana, or mole de frutas. After enjoying your own creations for lunch, take an afternoon trip to nearby Cholula, home to the world’s largest pyramid by volume. Climb to the church atop the pyramid and admire the view of the smoking Popocatépetl volcano.

Day 6 Scenic Drive to Oaxaca – Cultural Immersion Begins

After breakfast, depart for Oaxaca (approx. 4.5 hrs), with a scenic stop for lunch en route. Upon arrival, enjoy a short walking tour of downtown Oaxaca, including the Santo Domingo Church and local artisan shops. Get your first taste of Oaxacan cuisine with a meal featuring memelas, tamales oaxaqueños, and quesillo.

Day 7 Mitla, Weaving Traditions & Mezcal Tasting

Travel through the Valley of Oaxaca to discover the ancient archaeological site of Mitla, once a sacred Zapotec ceremonial center known for its intricate stone mosaics. After a guided visit, continue to Teotitlán del Valle, a renowned artisan town where families have been weaving with natural dyes for generations. Visit a local workshop and learn about the symbolism and technique behind their tapestries. In the afternoon, stop at a traditional palenque to learn how mezcal is made using age-old practices—culminating in a curated mezcal tasting with a local producer.

Day 8 Departure – Take the Flavors Home

Enjoy your final breakfast in Oaxaca. Depending on your flight time, you may visit a local chocolate shop or craft market before your transfer to the airport.
