Tour Plan

Day 1 Arrival and City Tour in San Luis Potosí

Arrive in San Luis Potosí and step into a colonial world of plazas, cathedrals, and museums. Enjoy a guided walking tour through the historic center, followed by a welcome dinner in one of the city’s iconic courtyards. A relaxed day of cultural immersion sets the tone for the nature-packed journey ahead.

Day 2 Tamasopo Waterfalls and Puente de Dios

Head toward the Huasteca lowlands and stop at the refreshing Tamasopo Waterfalls. Swim in crystal-clear pools beneath jungle greenery, then continue to the striking Puente de Dios—an otherworldly grotto carved by water. Transfer to Ciudad Valles, the base for upcoming adventures.

Day 3 Micos Waterfalls Adventure + Kayaking or Cliff Jumping

Spend the morning at the Micos Waterfalls, a playful set of cascades where you can swim, relax, or try the optional zipline. Afterward, choose between kayaking or guided cliff jumping on the upper Micos River. Return to Ciudad Valles for an easy evening in town.

Day 4 El Salto, El Meco and Minas Viejas Waterfalls

Travel north to El Naranjo and explore three spectacular waterfalls. First, admire the seasonal El Salto, then continue to the year-round El Meco with its striking drop and turquoise water. Finish with a walk and swim at Minas Viejas, framed by lush jungle and stone terraces.

Day 5 Tamul Waterfall and Cueva del Agua

Embark on a rowboat journey where you will row along the Tampaón River to reach Tamul—the tallest waterfall in San Luis Potosí. Marvel at its force and beauty, then cool off in the nearby Cueva del Agua. This is one of the Huasteca’s most iconic natural experiences.

.

Day 6 Xilitla, Las Pozas, and Overnight in Aquismón

Drive to Xilitla, a cloud-forest town surrounded by mystery. Visit Las Pozas, the surrealist sculpture garden created by Edward James, filled with stairs to nowhere and jungle waterfalls. In the afternoon, drive to Aquismón for a restful night near nature.

Day 7 Sótano de las Golondrinas, Mantetzulel and Media Luna

Leave Aquismon very early (about an hour before sunrise) for the bird spectacle at Sótano de las Golondrinas, where thousands of swifts and parrots spiral out of a 500-meter abyss. Then hike to the sacred caves of Mantetzulel. Finish the day with a soak in the warm waters of Laguna de la Media Luna.
