You’ll start in the vibrant Merida’s market, Lucas de Galvez, shopping for some fresh fruits, vegetables, and recados, or Yucatecan spice blends. At the same time, you will get to taste traditional local meals.

After the tour market, your guide will take you to the local home by public transportation. Your local host will be waiting for you.

The cooking class will start and your guide and your host will teach you step by step how to prepare a three-course menu while you will be getting interesting facts. You will be able to taste some local fruits drinks and local beers.

Then, the table will be set and you will enjoy the delicious meals you prepared!

Finally, your guide will arrange your transportation to go back to Merida’s downtown.

You’ll meet your tour guide outside of Hotel Caribe at Hidalgo’s Park in Merida’s downtown

09:15 – Walk through the historic center

On the way to the main market of Merida city, there will be a stop at Merida’s main square where you will get a short explanation about Merida’s downtown

09:30 – Arrival to Lucas de Galvez Market and shopping time

You will arrive at Lucas de Galvez Market, where you will introduce yourself to the local gastronomy while tasting some local dishes and ingredients that are produced just in the region. Also, with the help of a list of ingredients and your guide, you’ll buy the supplies for cooking Yucatecan dishes.
