Experiment an exciting off-campus experience. In this Yucatan Performance Tour, you will be performing at local and historical venues. Travel around the Southeast of Mexico. More importantly, share your music gift in this International Performance Tour. In addition, you will discover the Mayan World and enjoy beautiful landscapes.

Mexico is an ideal destination to promote music bands, choirs, orchestras, dance, and theatre groups. In order to take performing arts to wonderful venues, share your passion and talent with local people.

We craft custom student group performance tours that will adjust with your student’s needs and your budget. Along the development of the itinerary we go hand by hand with you so we can adjust to fit your exact requirements.

PERFORMANCE INCLUSIONS

  • Arrangements for up to 5 performances in various venues (Universities, churches, outdoors venues, formal theatres, etc), including a performance at an orphanage and exchange time with the kids.
  • Invitation to local media to cover the performances. This may include (depending on every specific media criteria), interviews on radio or TV and/or press releases.
  • Local promotion at schools, churches and cultural institutions.
  • Keyboard or acoustic Piano.
  • Raisers and conductor podium when available.

Day 1: Welcome to Merida!
Welcome to Merida City! Today after your arrival your Tour Leader will be waiting for you at the airport, the driver will take you to the hotel so you can settle in and have the rest of the day to wander the streets to discover the nearby places on your own. Finish the day with a unique welcome dinner.*If your flight arrives at Cancun airport, please contact us.

Day 2: Santa Barbara Cenotes – Performance in the Mayan Town of Tahmek
You'll visit two marvelous Cenotes located in the small village of Cuzama. The cenotes are sinkholes where underground rivers break through the limestone crust of the earth. You‘ll get on a horse drawn cart which take us 5 miles into the jungle to visit and swim into the beautiful and clear cenotes. After having lunch, you will go to another small mayan town called Tahmek to have a shared performance with the local children’s orchestra.

Day 3: Walking tour – Outdoor performance
This day you will have a walking tour of downtown Merida to visit the Cathedral, the Casa de Montejo and the beautiful Plaza Grande. In the evening, you will have your outdoor concert in Remate de Paseo Montejo, the most iconic avenue and main square of Merida. This performance would be part of the weekly event called "Noche Mexicana". Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 4: Celestun Day Trip – Transfer to Ría Celestun Biosphere Reserve
Today you will have a Celestun Flamingos Tour. Celestun is home of the biggest settlement of the Pink Flamingo in the continent, they are located in the Ría Celestun Biosphere Reserve. To visit them, we take a boat tour and will learn about the importance of mangroves in the region. After time, you will have some leisure time at the beach to enjoy of the sun. You will return to Merida city to have dinner together.

Day 5: Chichen Itza and performance at San Bernardino de Siena in Valladolid (overnight Valladolid)
Today you will visit the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza, one of the best known and well-restored archaeological sites of the Yucatan. Chichen Itza is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, now named one of the “New Seven Wonders of the World”. Eventually, you will be transferred to Valladolid, one of the Magical Towns of Yucatan. There, you will have lunch and free time to discover this beautiful colonial town. Your performance will take place at Convent of San Bernardino de Siena, founded by the Order of Franciscans in 1552.  After the concert, you will enjoy dinner together.

Day 6. Transfer to Playa del Carmen and the rest of the day free
This morning you will be transferred to Playa del Carmen. Once there, you will have free time to be on your own. Relax, take some rest and enjoy your time walking around.

Day 7: Playa del Carmen
We will have the full day to enjoy the town. You will enjoy the day relaxing by the beach or visiting the famous 5th Avenue, where you can find all kinds of shops and discover great places to find souvenirs, eat authentic Mexican snacks and enjoy a great Mexican sunset on your last day in Mexico. In the evening we'll have a farewell dinner at a Mexican restaurant.

Day 8: Hasta pronto Mexico!
Your adventure has come to an end but the memories of a great Yucatan trip will stay with you forever: music concerts, new venues, beautiful landscapes. After breakfast, your driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Cancun's International Airport where you will say goodbye to your Tour Leader and take your flight back home.
